Permanence

Synopsis: A death row inmate volunteers in the trials of a new drug to reduce his sentence. But as it slowly degrades his body and mind, he begins to realize this fate is far worse than death. This was filmed during Campus MovieFest 2014, a film festival that tasks students with filming and editing a 5 minute short film in one week.

I’ve always enjoyed contained thrillers and was interested in doing something along those lines for Campus MovieFest. I thought Georgia Tech’s on-campus anechoic chamber was the perfect setting that could add an extra layer of atmosphere, as the layout of the room and absolute silence of the space set an appropriately eerie tone.
